                                 "M25 BASH" Stansted/ Southend/ Luton/ East Midlands

The Weather forecast looked promising so we set off at 5.45am, we called at MME first for A6-SAC and reached Stansted in 3 hrs 15 mins. The "old" side looked busy, 2 Dubai Air Wing 747s and a BBJ2, parked in a remote corner was Project Orbis DC10 N220AU. We settled in spotters row for a couple of hours to catch the RYR/EZY wave, highlights were 2 Air Berlin DH8Ds and the departure of Glex ZS-GJB.

It took around 45 minutes to reach Southend, we went to the north side area first which was busy with lots of stored 146s. A kind Security Guard (MME TAKE NOTE!!) allowed us into the compound for some shots. Then it was over to the main apron where the highlights were 2 A319s about to join the "New" Olympic fleet and an ex United B733 awaiting delivery to Arik Air of Nigeria in the hangar. Its always worth a call at Southend!!

Round the M25 next towards Luton, arriving around 3.30pm. After a curcuit we parked in the Mid Term car park opposite the hotel as you now get 1 hour free then £2 per hour, we settled at the crossover taxiway for a couple of hours. We met a Brummie spotter who expressed his gratitude regarding this website, he had been over in the Phoenix area during the Superbowl week and had copped many more due to the trip report. Highlights at Luton were the Indian G5, and 2 nice BBJ2s.

Time for the long drive home via EMA, made even longer by the M1 being closed and a divert to Coventry and up the M42!! It was worth the stop anyway as the S5 Citation was very nice!!
