Parking Enforcement

Permits for Enthusiasts

28/07/23: It seems some security agents remain unaware of this scheme. If you go in Gate 7 for a permit and they know nothing about it, please insist that they have forms and permits right in front of them on the desk (whilst remaining polite!). Thank you.

As many will be aware, new parking enforcement measures are being introduced across the airport estate from 15th August. Teesside Airport Movements have managed to secure three permits to be used by enthusiasts under the terms and conditions listed at the bottom of this page.

There are seven colour-coded zones of parking (purple is missing from above), our permits will cover the blue zone (see below) which is essentially Gate 13 to the new Draken hangar and everything in-between (where most of us park anyway and within walking distance of everywhere you would wish to go).

The airport authority have been very kind in providing these passes, they have no obligation to do so but have been more than happy to accommodate us, therefore we would ask the local enthusiast community to refrain from critising the parking enforcement / car park tariff on social media and internet forums etc. Our sincere thanks go out to the TVCA/airport authority for continuing to support our hobby at the airport.

Terms and Conditions

  • The passes do not apply to either the long or short stay car parks
If you're looking to use the viewing area or access the stand 1 field etc, go buy a coffee and get your parking validated for two hours! Even if outside of the Café opening hours, it's still worth an ask at the Info Desk, they may be willing to serve you (but may not - it's at their discretion).

  • The passes will need signing in and out
The passes are available from Gate 7 (near the tower), which is open from 0700-1600. Passes will be made available outside of these hours with advanced notice (most interesting movements are publicised well in advance so more often than not you should know if you are going to be visiting outside of these hours). Please also note Gate 7 can experience ad-hoc closures on occasion.

  • Maximum eight hours
Unless there are exceptional circumstances in which case we would happily extend, we can't imagine they will be required for anywhere near this length of time.

  • Spotting use only
The permits are to be used only for pursing the hobby, such as spectating, spotting, photographing etc. If you are visiting an airport tenant, that tenant is responsible for issuing their own permits.

  • No sharing
Please do not pass permits on to other people, we have three permits, it is not very often there are more than two or three of us on site at any one time, in the event extra are required, efforts will be made to loan more.

Please be advised the set-up of this system is a work-in-progress, and we are open to suggestions if you believe it can be improved - please do not hesitate to contact us.
