Annual Review
Teesside Airport Movements
New Website
Back in September we launched the long-teased new website, and it's fair to say it received mixed reviews. Over the first day we received unanimously positive reviews, mainly on the WhatsApp group, but day two saw social media rip us to shreds. Perhaps that just tells you all you need to know about the nature of social media. We took onboard and tried our best to accommodate the nasty criticism in addition to the constructive criticism, and V2 when it was released in November was unanimously praised across all platforms. There is still work to be done and we'll always try to further improve things, so keep those suggestions and feedback coming in!
Manners Cost Nothing!
As we have said before it is only courteous to credit the website when posting elsewhere, we are not pompous but it is after all a small ask for a free, unrivalled and exclusive service. We've never claimed to be live, but even when we're stretched we miss next to nothing - Chris keeps track to make sure! A single Citation and a couple of flying school land-aways and that's about it! We are conscious that some will hear the information we provide third hand but still we can always tell when someone shares something they got from us. We're also trying to move away from the "TAM" abbreviation; it's too generic and could mean any number of things. When crediting the website please kindly refer to "Teesside Airport Movements", "the Movements website" or similar etc. Many thanks!
Just as a footnote, there are one or two people who have a problem with the website or the individuals behind it for no justifiable reason. We would ask if you hear any criticism to bear in mind you're only getting one side of a story and that we are not there to defend ourselves. What we usually find is the reputations of these people precede them. We hold no grudges and any such individuals would be welcomed with open arms at the social events etc.
Has turned out to be one of the best things we've ever done. A vibrant community that has more than earned its keep. You may hear murmurs of a couple of incidents of trouble, yes there have been a couple of minor blips but not the fully blown meltdowns a certain demographic would have you believe. Considering there is no real vetting process, to only have two or three instances over 10 months (with only two people leaving as a consequence) is pretty good going. That from someone who was against the idea of setting the group up to start with on the basis that allowing people to interact online is the very thing that has spoiled the hobby!
Friends of Teesside International Airport
Whipped nicely into shape and now making a small profit. All are welcome to join and the group offers plenty of social opportunities for local enthusiasts, meeting every other month for a beer and a laugh.
