Annual Review
2025 Preview
We anticipate a slower year for 2025, after all Airbourne Colours and FedEx were both announced and launched in the same calendar year - how do you top that?!
It is fairly common knowledge another two hangars are at an advanced stage of planning - we know Hangar 5 has permission. One if not both are scheduled to open one year from now.
The ground clearance work taking place on the site of the Willis Aviation Village is not related to that development. As noted elsewhere in the review - our position is that it is no longer happening although we would love nothing more than to be proven wrong.
Málaga ticks one of the two boxes of the Mayors election pledge, the other Tenerife despite being equally as in demand as Málaga is a much taller order. A w-pattern is likely out of the question and all the low-costs pulled their bases during Covid. It's hard to see past an eventual Ryanair TFS base delivering the goods and don't be so quick to rule out other carriers who at first glance might not seem particularly likely...
Hopes and Dreams (2025)
• Expand Leisure
Offering
A rolling expectation until such a time
we match the previous 2006 peak, which equates to 3x based
aircraft and the equivalent of 0.66 aircraft in non-based
w-patterns.
• GA Growth
We've listed this in past reviews and it's
important to keep pushing the issue.
• Build the next
Southside Unit
It would be the easiest thing in the world
for any progress on the Southside Business Park to stagnate, the
airport needs to keep the momentum going now they've leased the
first one.
• Twice Daily
Aberdeen
The route needs and deserves to be twice
daily, the Oil & Gas industry requires it for early morning
connections on to the rigs.
